Bikram Yoga is the key to the kingdom of good health. It is a structured sequence of 26 postures and two breathing exercises practiced in a room heated to approximately 105°F (40.6°C) with 40% humidity. Each 90-minute session is designed to work systematically through the entire body, promoting physical and mental well-being.
Bikram Yoga traces its roots to the teachings of Bishnu Charan Ghosh, a renowned physical culturist and younger brother of Paramahansa Yogananda, author of Autobiography of a Yogi. Bikram Choudhury, a dedicated student of Ghosh, cultivated these teachings into the 26-posture sequence known today as BikramYoga.
